country convergence

Looks strangely similar to the gold scrap...?
I guess someone was making a home in my bbq. Not as meticulous as a bower bird, but somebody who was very resourceful. They found Bob's fur in the compost and combined it with a shredded bbq instruction manual.
A bower bird nest!!!!!!!!

It's August. Is this really the first time you've had the lid of the barbie? What kind of country living is that?

I'm thinking rodent, definitely nothing avian. Better clean that out properly: I still get a blast of Hantavirus mouse urine every time I turn on the defroster in my truck, thanks to a nest a lot like this one, formerly in the air intake duct.

This guy worked fast. I have been grilling...maybe the smoky fumes were a combination of venison and mouse...?

Rich, please tell me more about the magnificent bower bird...have you seen this kind of architecture first hand? It is on my top 10 sites to see...
